The crying, wailing, and anguish must have been unbearable when God struck down all the first born of Egypt, we could only speculate (Exodus 12:12). Death arrived, it was too late. This was God’s last judgment upon Egypt in the days of Moses, the tenth and final plague. As the blood of a slain lamb was applied to the doors, God’s people (the Israelites) escaped death. We believers, by accepting the blood of Christ to atone for our sins (Leviticus 17:11, 1John 1:7), have escaped spiritual death. We will not be judged for our sins. Today this brings to mind, the Great White Throne Judgment.
“And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened” (Revelation 20:12a).
The Great White Throne Judgment mentioned in Revelation 20:11-15, refers to all mankind since the origins of time who have not received salvation through the blood of Christ. They will receive the judgment of spiritual death and eternal punishment.
The crying, wailing and anguish emanating from these lost souls at the time of the Great White Throne Judgment will surely be of epic proportions. An outcry that has never taken place before in the history of humanity. Sadly, as I see it, this will be the worst tragedy of mankind.
The fact remains that for non-believers after physical death there is no hope, no second chances. Death finalizes the condition of your soul. In the end, the lost are condemned forever. This is what God’s Word says. “And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:15).
One thing for sure, our choices must be made this side of eternity.
“So choose life in order that you may live… (Deuteronomy 30:19b).
The bottom line is we cannot fathom all of God’s ways. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:9). God’s character has many aspects, judgment is one of His characteristics. Because He is also a God of love, He has made his intentions clear in His word concerning judgment. So I guess you could say mankind is without excuse. Certainly, at the Great White Throne Judgment, no excuses will be justifiable.
Like most, it is not pleasant for us to think about the topic of eternal damnation, and the Great White Throne Judgment. It is difficult for us to assimilate into our finite minds. Considering all the lost souls we encounter in our lives (sometimes daily), we would do well to meditate on this subject more frequently. Perhaps some of us have become complacent and have neglected our part in “The Great Commission” that Jesus spoke about (Matthew 28: 19-20).
Love for our fellow man should compel us to reach out to the lost, even our enemies ( Mark 12:31 – “You shall love your neighbor as yourself”). As Christians let us do our part to pray, lead and inspire others to faith in Christ, and help to rescue souls from eternal punishment.
“Death is swallowed up in victory” (1Corinthians 15:54).

Very good insights from a fellow believer! It is refreshing to know that there are young people (younger than myself) that still hold on to the absolutes of God’s word. Thank you for this website. I am encouraged and look forward to further reading!

What a unbearable time that will be. I pray that we all speak up for Christ and let all those we know, who do not know Christ, (let alone the final judgment)
of His love and how He does not want to lose not even one. That judgment is real and time is short.
Aida Duroy says
It’s true, He is a God of love and second chances, all the way to the end of the age. We do need to have courage and boldness to speak up. Thanks Darlene.

“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long-suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9
I pray for boldness in sharing the gospel. The time is short.

Yes I agree Judy, we seem to be rapidly approaching the end of the church, but God is gracious in waiting.

God is not willing that any should perish. Let us do our part to bring the message of love forgiveness and hope to those who do not know Christ s free gift to us in bringing us salvation.
Aida Duroy says
Yes, we need to tell those who are lost. Thanks Betsy

Although this was a “heavy” topic it is a necessary one. God came that we might have life and more abundantly. We must be born again..accept Jesus His sacrifice His enabling us to live holy. God wishes that none should perish! Eternity is forever..help us to trust you Lotd Jesus. Thankyou Aida..

I agree a heavy topic, but something we need to contemplate. Thanks Louann
